cosmetic
Clean Appearance.
Detailed Finish.
Cosmetic welds are often appreciated for their visual quality, especially on custom exhaust systems, visible piping, engine bay fabrication, and show-quality components. In automotive fabrication, this can include the well-known blue, gold, purple, or rainbow-colored finish sometimes seen around stainless or titanium welds, commonly called heat tint or temper colors. These colors can give the weld a high-end handcrafted look, especially on performance exhaust work and visible custom fabrication.
In performance automotive work, visual quality still has value — but appearance alone does not define whether a weld is truly right for the job. A weld can look beautiful on the surface, including showing attractive heat color, while the real standard should still be correct execution, material suitability, and functional reliability. Industry welding references note that weld color alone is not a reliable indicator of weld quality.
structural
Strength. Reliability.
Security.
Structural welds are focused on performance under load, vibration, heat, and long-term stress. This is what matters most for roll cages, support bars, bash bars, brackets, repairs, chassis-related work, and critical components that must remain dependable under real driving or racing conditions.
At VPS, structural welding is about more than simply joining metal together. It is about making sure the part is properly prepared, correctly positioned, strongly welded, and built to handle the way the vehicle is actually used. For serious automotive work, strength and function always come first, because the real priority is whether it is strong, properly executed, and correct for the application. VPS also provides a clean finish or attractive heat tint, so best result is when visual quality and structural integrity come together — but when there is a choice, function, strength, and reliability always lead.
